This is some of our story that we would like to share with you. First off I would like to thank you for taking the time to read this, and second I would like to thank you for all of you support and love that you have shown Jessica and myself over the years. I’ll try and keep it brief, but we’ve got 27 years to cover here so bear with me. – C
The Beginning
Jessica and Chris first meet at East Gaston High School when they had JROTC together. Jessica would tell you that when she first saw Chris it was, how do they say? Love at first sight. They began dating officially on August 25th, 1997 at the beginning of their Junior year.
As time passed Jessica and Chris (Chris a little slower than Jessica, as she would tell you) began to realize that this wasn’t just another High School fling. There were good times, and there were bad times as with all relationships (especically ones involving teenagers), but the good always outweighed the bad, and their love held things together.
The First Born
As time passed Chris and Jessica were gifted with the news that Jessica was with child. I know, I know a teenage pregnancy doesn’t seem like much of a gift, but Chris and Jessica knew that this child would be just another great chapter in their story. On February 1st 1999, Kelby Dee entered this world and Chris and Jessica lives changed forever.
The Marines!
With a new baby, Chris decided that he needed a stable income and living situation for Jessica and Kelby once all this High School bussiness was conculded, so he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps (although he was heard saying many times “I should have went Air Force”).
Chris left for bootcamp in July 1999, just four short months after Kelby was born. To say the send off was heart wrenching for Jessica and himself would be an understatement. As Chris made his way through three months of bootcamp at Parris Island, SC and Jessica played the role of single mother back in NC, they kept in touch through letters they would write each other almost daily. While Chris was away, Jessica meticulously planned the Wedding that was to take place once Chris returned.
Chris gradutated bootcamp and earned the title Marine on October 8th 1999. He then returned back home for his ten days of leave, to prepare for his wedding to his beautiful bride to be.
The Wedding
Christopher Fredrick and Jessica Mosley became Mr. & Mrs. Fredrick on October 16th 1999. They were married in a beautiful house in the historic district of Gastonia, NC. Their friends and family attended and witnessed as they pledged their love to each other and said thier vows.
Their honeymoon was but a brief night in Charlotte at the Sherton. The joyus reunion would be cut short as Chris had to report to combat training, and M.O.S. school only days after the wedding.
Jacksonville
No not Flordia, good ole Jacksonville, North Carolina. Home of Camp Lejeune. Chris finished up combat training, and M.O.S. school Chris ended up getting stationed here after bootcamp. Jessica and Kelby followed him shortly after he secured them a home in base housing.
